Adult Sunday School / Bible Study

Please join us as we continue to study "The Bible from Scratch: The Old Testament For Beginners" by Donald L. Griggs. The author presents "basic themes, histories, personalities, and meanings of the Bible", in "an accessible, easy-to-understand overview of the Bible for adults who have a fear or they have little or no Bible knowledge."

Meeting held in the Ladies' Parlor at 10:00 AM.

Copies of the book will be available at the church.  A $15 contribution is being requested for the book.

Ramah Reads

Starting Sunday at 4:00 PM, June 4th.  Meeting in Fellowship Hall to discuss Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns is a 1984 historical novel.  Set in Cold Sassy, GA (based on the real city of Harmony Grove, now Commerce) in 1906, it follows the life of 14 year old boy named Will Tweedy, and explores themes such as religion, death, and social taboos.  The book is listed as one of the best American novels set in the South along with Gone With the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird, or The Help.  The humor and the joy of life of the characters give a clean feeling of a simpler time.

The reading group is open to any who want to read books chosen by members of the group.  If one piques your interest in a particular month, come join us.

Come join Ramah Reads!
